Board of Directors

THE EIGHTEEN-MEMBER FPUSA BOARD OF DIRECTORS consists of thirteen Regional Counselors and five officers. The Regional Counselors are elected by the clubs in their respective Regions, and are responsible for representing their Region to the National Board. The officers, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and National Sport Director are elected nationally. You can learn more about the various duties and responsibilities in the Bylaws.

The Counselors represent the seven Regions: Northeast (1), Mid-America (2), Southeast (3), Central (1), Southwest (2), Northern California (2), and Northwest (2). Kirk has been playing petanque since 1999, competitively since 2008, an advocate for youth participation and an organizer of international events for American players. He was Carolina Petanque’s president for twelve years, Vice President of FPUSA and has served on the FPUSA sport committee and other advisory committees.

As President of the Portland Pétanque Club Steve has initiated a host of innovative programs to raise awareness of the game in Portland. Under his watch the club launched the highly successful annual Rose City Open. Steve brings great organizational skills and energy to the office of Secretary.

Janice Bissonnette

It's not hyperbole to say that Janice is in a league of her own—she was the FPUSA's first woman NSD and is now it's first woman Treasurer. Since 2011 she's been on the Fresno club Board (President since 2017) where as Tournament Director she successfully organized Regionals, Nationals, and Qualifiers for six years. And she's got game, holding a number of National and Regional titles over the past four years.
