Amelia Island Boules ClubThe Amelia Island Boules Club is certainly one of the most unique clubs in the USA, and perhaps in the world. The size of our Island makes it convenient for members to hit the courts within a few minutes from anywhere on the spur of the moment or during a lunch break. Our picture perfect, year-round, semi-tropical weather conditions make year-round play possible. The unconventional manner in which we conduct business in cooperation with our local municipalities allows us to construct courts on city property as needed with municipal support for our events. For all these reasons, Amelia Island is a pétanque Utopia. ⦿ We play at the marina on Front Street and at Central Park on Atlantic Avenue between 11th Street and 14th Street. Most club members carry an extra set of boules with them and curious passersby are invited to jump right in and learn the game. ⦿ On a regular basis club members meet Monday and Thursday mornings at 10:00 AM, and as a club we play Wednesday afternoons on a loose schedule starting from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM playing until dark, and every Saturday we play from 9:30 AM until whenever. That said, no matter what time you happen to be driving by either our shaded courts at the Central Park, or the picturesque courts overlooking our boat-laden marina, you’re likely to see a game or two in progress. Check for current times at member Philippe Boet's Pétanque America webpage and our club Facebook page. For more information contact Jim Weinsier at (904) 261-8288 or Philippe at Pétanque America (904) 491-1190, or use the contact form below. ⦿ We are, of course, the proud home of the one and only Pétanque America Open, held every November in our beautiful hometown of Fernandina Beach and the largest club in the US.⦿
